"Shh, my favorite and only Mommy is blinking and kissing me!"
"My mommy blinks a lot!"
Well, since I last "blinked" blogged, Stone has learned to wave bye-bye and learned how to follow directions. He continues to make his funny faces! Where did he learn that?!?! Oh, from both of his parents!
I love Stone so much! Seeing my young man when I return from work gives me such joy for the precious gift that God has given both Jimmie and me. Today, when I walked into the house, Jim met me at the door holding Stone. Stone started kicking his legs and waving his arms...like he just didn't care. 80's song reference; I think!?!?
I am one of the most blessed women in the world because both of my men greet me at the door with such perfect love! Both, my men might use these words as leverage when they get mad at me!
It is 3:08 in the early morning on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 AND I can't sleep because yesterday was such a wild-wacky-whirl of a day. I am glad yesterday is over BUT I can't shake a few things off; even after holding sunshiny Stone!
First, the day started with me asking Jim to hit the snooze button; twice. After getting up and showering, a strong sense of worry for Jim's health and well being came over my soul. Then, I left the house to drive to school BUT only after I smelled the scent of fall in the air. The crisp-cool air gave me a welcomed pause of thanksgiving for a fellow work mommy and it seemed to ease, for just a moment, my worry for Jim's health. Well, after a long drive to the school house, I just wanted to drive back home to Jim and Stone. But, I could not do that because of this thing called a J-O-B.
May this day be a Thanksgiving Thursday!!! I mean, gosh...look at these blessings!!!
All of the pictures on this blog post show off my personality, color and age!!! Pictures are from Saint Patrick's Day 2009 at Patties Tea House Place in Plano, Texas.
(Stone is about 5 months old.)
Right now, the boys in the house are taking morning naps and I am wasting time on Facebook. These are some of my results from some of the quizzes that I just took-giggle! Suzi---get on facebook!!! My personality...
Your faith defines you. Through your faith, you reach out to help those you find in need. People who are defined by their faith tend to be seen as closed- minded and often as hypocrites, but that in itself as a very narrow view of people of faith. They tend to get too invested in other people's problems. So the heartaches of others bring storms into their own lives. Acceptance is something they seek to make them feel more valued. So, sometimes they bend on things they shouldn't. If your faith is what makes you, you feel very secure about most things in life, but need to work on letting others figure out how to rebuild their own lives when it starts to interfere with yours. At work you have a strong desire to influence others. So, they may lead more significant lives. You often work in the arts, communication, education, and helping professions. You are adept at motivating and interacting with others
In love, you seek harmonious relationships. You are a true romantic and believe in perfect love that lasts forever. You bring drama, warmth, and empathy to relationships. You enjoy symbols of romance such as flowers, candle-lights, and music as well as cherish the small gestures of love.
In childhood you were extremely imaginative and found it difficult to fit into the structure of school life. You reacted with great sensitivity to discordance or rejection and sought recognition. You responded to encouragement.
My age...
Constance Stanton YES...this really is me! Yesterday, Jim even said that my new wallet looks like a "Grannie wallet" and he said that it is perfect because I have an old soul! I think a wise soul-giggle!!!
Ancient (90-112 Years): You are wise and have seen the ways of the world. There's not much time for you personally, but your knowledge is enough to feed generations to come.
The outfit in this picture is different from the outfits in the above pictures because Mr. Stone Man up-chucked on this outfit!
Grannie, this picture is dedicated to you. I know that you are absent from the body and present with the Lord. May you know that you are always loved and never forgotten. Please tell Jesus hello and tell Granddad Brown, thank you for the flag of service!
"Mommy, Dr. G said that I should no longer be using a bottle!"
"AND Nurse Aimee gave me two shots!"
"Mommy, thank you for letting me try to make Mr. Charles Jr. feel better after his surgery." "Mom, when I gave the missionary my time; he then gave me a monkey balloon!" "Mom, Miss Amanda is nice and I love hanging out with her!!!"
Today, Stone had two naps. He did not wake up from his last nap until 5:30 p.m.! So, I decided to go to the mall with just Stone. It was like a first Mommy/Son date! Daddy met up with a friend who he has not seen in a long time. I had good intentions on buying me a much needed pair of shoes BUT instead I brought Stone some more books! So, thanks Casey and Jill for this book idea, this book idea and this book idea!
IMPORTANT: Grandparents...please get together for Stone's first b-day and buy this stuff!!! Also for Christmas...Melissa and Doug Toys are what Stone said he wanted-giggle!!!
Anyways, as Stone and I were exiting an elevator, a mom said to Stone, "What a gentleman!" I believe she spoke those words because I told Stone, "Ladies first." I DO realize Stone is just 9 months but gentleman behavior starts young! I wonder if there is a male version of this book??? OH, there is a gentleman's version!!! Someone PRETTY-PLEASE get it for Stone because this mommy really does need a new pair of shoes!!!
I am so thankful for the weekend time!!! This past week was so long!!! I can't complain because this first week of school, with students, was the smoothest transition from summer to the start of a new school year that I have personal and professional experienced!!!
A pictorial week in review...
"Mommy, I loved seeing your classroom along with Aunt Deb's and hanging out with Nana and Granddad was such a treat!"
"The sunrise, dad holding me and Tex-Mex food made my 9 month old celebration awesome!"
"Mommy, don't worry about me while you are at work because I will be playing with Paw-Paw!"
Dear Stone,
I usually write to a "mass audience" when I blog, but right now YOU are the target audience. I hope one day you will enjoy reading my words about our star-studded family!
Anyways...this past week was unlike any other I have ever experienced because I started back to work as a first-time mommy. I can't tell you enough how much I miss you during the day. When I think about me being a "teacher", I am constantly thinking about how my words and actions would be seen by you. I hope you see, from my actions, a strong Christian, loyal friend, ethical worker and family member; ALL at the same time.
Right now is a stressful time for mommy. I describe this stressful time as "back to school". I want to make a commitment to you...I will work hard at keeping my stress JUST my stress and not causing it to be your stress or your daddy's. My plan is to apply the same classroom management skills that I use in the classroom to the household AND to stop every few hours and give thanks to God, Your daddy, and the love that I have for you. It seems when thanksgiving is given then stress is then but into perspective. I can't wait for you to comprehend the book Seven Blind Mice by Ed Young! It is a great book on perspective/point of view!
When you were born, Mrs. Amanda Renter said to me..."Connie, Stone is God's child not really yours. He has chosen you to help Him raise Stone." Mrs. Amanda's wise words helped to humble me while at the same time have given me peace in all kinds of stressful moments. For example, your sleeping in the crib. I thought you were going to die of SIDS! With me going back to work, I realize that I am not the only one helping to raise a strong and faithful man of God; that in itself stresses me because I have control issues and think I am the only "good" teacher!!! However, I know that God is the pillar of great strength and protection over you AND that gives me such perfect peace. Thought I would share how I am able to work and be a mommy to you at the same time!
"Mommy, I remember hanging out with Mrs. Amanda when I was just 5 months old!"
"Mommy, Mrs. Peggy is raising me well because she tells me NO, Sir!"
"Mommy, we need more pics of Mrs. Peggy on our family blog!"
Your dad and I want to be your hero. For me to be a worthy example, I must not only state to you what are hero qualities but also exhibit them without second guessing or asking for validation of my actions. Stone Cash-doing the right thing is NEVER easy...especially if everyone is looking and/or if no one is looking. When you get older, remind me to tell you how and why I stood up in front of about 80 people; some of them my friends and some of them my enemies. Remember my dear boy, we do/say things not for ourselves but for Him to help spread the love for others who are in need.
I love you...enjoy some of the moments that I captured this week!!! Next week you turn 9 months! Why are you going up so fast!?!? Slow down and enjoy being a baby! Giggle!
"Mommy, go to work; ALL is well!"
"Mommy, are you glad your first week back to work is over!?!?"
The Stanton family wait in the ER hospital room.
(This iPhone pic is not that good-sadness.)
"Nonna, help me to escape this germ infested place!"
"Mom, I am really am fine!"
"Dad told you so!"
...one fell off and bumped his head!!! Remember this childhood song?!?!Stone's nickname is Little Monkey Man but I had no idea that he would want to do what monkey's do! Yes, Stone rolled off the bed. And mind you, he did so in front of 3 grown woman! He is super fast!!! After trying to figure out if I should take him to the ER, I did. All seemed well except he threw-up the next morning, slept for most of the next day, was not eating normally nor acting like himself. I thought it was b/c he was hungry or getting more teeth BUT his nurse said to take him to the ER. Words can't describe how I felt. Little guy had a head & neck cat-scan and back X-rays.
Stone is an extremely happy and easy baby to read BUT not after his "monkey" accident. Too many variables following the "bed scene" for me not to call the doctor. ER doctor thought maybe a concussion. Someone, please tell me that the next 18 years of ER visits will not be as hard as this ER visit!!!
Stone and his new booster seat.
(A treat for Monkey Man after his first visit to the ER!!!) "Nonna and Paw-Paw love me!"
"Glad they were here when I had my first ER visit!" Zoe sits on the time out mat. This visual helps to prepare me for returning back to work! Without good teachers, students would not know how to make good choices! The cat never had a good teacher!
One of Stone's favorite families, the Gages! The Renter Family Rules!!!
Stone's girlfriend for the summer of 2009!
Stone now has two teeth and his shirt states it all!
Stone's parents go out on a date! All they talk about is Stone and how much they wish they could nap!
Visuals are a tool used to help most learners comprehend vital information. I am going to post a lot of visuals to this post because Stone is vitally important to the world and he needs to be comprehended by all-giggle! He helps to heal an aching heart and causes a moment of pause of thanksgiving in almost everyone that he meets. Is that why Stone is a Thanksgiving baby?!?!
Quick note: Amanda R. gave me this blog link and I really like it. Most of you who read The Stanton Star and who also write their own blog will also like it because it is real and authentic. Amanda also told me about this book. Casey and Christy, you will like it because you too love organization!!! Also, does anyone know about this book???
Stone gives thanksgiving for his Aunti A's love for his family!
Ok, below are some videos. "Grandad, please buy a new Apple computer so that mom can upload iPhone videos more easily and so that the videos on The Stanton Star are longer than 47 seconds...pretty-please!"
Stone loves playing with his daddy!
Stone chases Zoe!
By the way, as I type this blog...
Stone is now ready for the word NO because he just found Zoe's food!!!
It is time to read this book; everyday!!!
Stone smiles like this every morning!!!

Stone loves hanging out at Mrs. Peggy's house!!!
Stone eats mac-n-cheese and hotdogs!
Stone learns about animals and letters from his daddy!
Thank you for reading The Stanton Star. It's purpose is to capture our son's life; thus our family's life and share it with those who truly care about us. At this time, I have closed the options for comments and will probably make The Stanton Star blog private and only open to those who register to read it.
